Johnny Gray

Johnny Gray was born in Nowater, Oklahoma on December 4, 1942. He attended the University of Alabama and in 1963 moved to Huntsville for his first radio job. After a few years in the record business in Atlanta, he went to WPLO where he was a jock, music director, and program director. In 1985 he went to work for WKHX as music director and eventually also served as assistant program director of sister station WYAY. Johnny received awards from Billboard and Radio and Records and was instrumental in helping build the careers of several Georgia recording artists. After 21 years at the same stations, Gray retired in 2006.
The Georgia Radio Hall Of Fame is a Georgia non profit corporation and a 501 (c) (3) organization.
